Ik vind zoiets als shakerbox/schudkaart altijd erg leuk voor te maken. Dit was een erg gedoe omdat ik zand aan de bovenkant wilde, en dus met aslan in de weer moest, wat natuurlijk niet in 1 keer wilde zoals ik wilde.
Wat ik bij shakerbox altijd doe, is niet de hoogte maken met foamtape ,maar met hobbyrubber. Snijden in de zelfde maat als de rand, en aan elkaar lijmen. Leuk is het dan om verschillende kleuren op elkaar te plakken, hoewel dat in dit geval niet mooi was.
Het zand komt van het strand (paal 17 op Texel) en heb ik gewassen en gedroogd. Een handje zand is goed voor heel veel kaarten. De schelpjes in de shaker box, is een ander verhaal. Daar hebben we, gezamelijk, erg lang naar moeten zoeken, want voor zoiets zijn schelpen heel erg snel te groot.

Because I live on a island, I love shells and sand. When I was making this card, I wanted real sand and real shells as embellishment. a shakerbox would work well. I like making them,. This one was kind of tricky, because I wanted sand on top of the box. So I needed to use aslan to make that work. And of course that wouldnt do what I wanted the first time round.
When I make a shakerbox, I do not use foamtape to make room for shaker material. But I use just foam. I do not know the correct frase in english. I hope you understand what I mean. It is mostly used for childrens crafts. I cut it in the right size, just as the border on top of the shakerbox. You can play with using different colours,which I didn't do for this card, because one colour was better.
The sand we collected on the beach. It is amazing how much cards you can make with a little sand. The shells were a totally different story. We had to look good to find all those small shells. For such a project, shells are easily too big.
The cards is made with alcohol inks, and shell stamps.
